I love the colors of the sky and the sun. They make my day bright and happy. I always try to accentuate the positive in my life by wearing colors that light up my day.
Some plants that can be grown in the summer and enjoy bright colors include daffodils, tulips, irises, lilies, roses, and hyacinths. Bulbs such as tulips and daffodils bulb up quickly in the springtime, adding color before the leaves even start to grow. Iris plants come in a variety of colors including blue, pink, yellow, and purple. Lilies are best known for their large trumpet-like flowers with a bright yellow or white center. Roses come in many beautiful shades of red and dark green. The hyacinth has delicate blue or violet flowers that look great against dark green leaves in the garden.
A range of textures and shapes can keep an interest all season long. For example, a garden with a variety of plants with rough or bumpy surfaces, such as junipers and cacti, can be interesting to look at throughout the year. Alternatively, a garden filled with brightly coloured flowers can be a favourite attraction for visitors all year round.
A natural calming atmosphere can be created by using elements like water, wind and rain. Water can be used to create a soothing feeling, while the sound of wind blowing through the trees or flowing through the river can create a sense of peace. The addition of lightening in the sky or drops of rain can also add to the effect.
A garden should be designed according to the surrounding landscape - it creates an environment of harmony. This is why a gardener will try to create plants and floral arrangements that harmoniously fit in with their surroundings. This way, the garden becomes an extension of the surrounding landscape, working together to provide beauty and functionality.
Whoever says that gardening is a boring hobby is wrong. In fact, there are many mysteries waiting to be explored in a good garden. For example, when looking at a garden from afar it can be hard to determine what layer is deepest. Is the dirt layer deep, or does the topsoil extend much deeper? Perhaps even further down there are rocks or other hidden treasures? When getting closer to the garden, one may notice things like different plants growing in different areas or oddly shaped plants that may only grow in a certain kind of soil. Each layer of the garden provides an opportunity for explorers to learn something new and explore the workings of nature in a more intimate way.
