There should be variety in a garden to insure that each plant receives the attention it needs. Flowers should be different in height, color, and shape. There should also be a variety of plants with different watering needs so that everything gets the attention it needs.
There should be balance between hardscape elements (stone, brick, etc.) and plants. Plants help to soften the appearance of a hardscape and add life to a space. Hardscape elements can keep a space looking orderly and clean. A well-maintained landscape can be both beautiful and functional.
A garden arch can be a very nice addition to your garden. It can create an entrance and provide shade on hot days.
A garden should be colorful and cheerful - choose plants that reflect your personality. Some of the best plants for a cheerful garden are grapefruits, lemon balm, petunias, bougainvillea, and salvia. These plants are all easy to grow and can add lots of color and life to your yard. If you want a more natural look in your garden, choose succulents like aloes or agaves. Theyre low-maintenance, drought-tolerant plants that will add a measure of tranquility to your space.
Digging through the dirt, I find a small rock with a sparkle in it. Gently removing it, I see that it's a beautiful diamond. As I start to fill in the hole I made with the rock, I think about all of the wonderful things I could buy with my newfound riches. Maybe a new car, or a trip to the tropics... Suddenly, the hole is full and I have so much more space to play with. As I start arranging the rocks and dirt, I get creative and imagine all sorts of fun ways to spend my money. Perhaps I'll go on a shopping spree at the mall and buy everything in sight! Regardless of what happens next, I know that having fun while digging, filling and arranging - add a little bit of whimsy to every day - is something that will make my day enjoyable no matter what comes along.
