Different plants require different amounts of water and air circulation, depending on the climate and soil where they are grown. There are, however, some plants that are adaptable to a wide range of conditions and can be grown relatively faithfully in most climates. Some plants that need a lot of water include flowering plants, succulents, and cacti. These plants need plenty of water to help them grow and flower. Succulents especially need a lot of water because their leaves are porous and they lose water quickly through evaporation. Cacti also need a lot of water because they rely on their succulent roots to store water. Other plants that need a lot of air circulation include ferns, palms, and eucalyptus trees. Ferns thrive in areas with moist air but poor air circulation; palms are often used in coastal areas as they tolerates saltwater better than other trees; while eucalyptus trees do well in both moist and dry environments, they require good air circulation to prevent moisture build-up in the trunk.
Why plant flowers in containers or in the ground? Flowers that are planted in containers need little maintenance and look great year-round. However, if you choose to plant them in the ground, you will need to water them regularly as they can get dry and die if not treated kindly.
